Law & Order: SVU season 19 episode 4: Walking Dead alum to appear
NBC has confirmed that Brighton Sharbino, who you be know as “look at the flowers” Lizzie on the AMC zombie drama, will be appearing in the aforementioned October 18 episode entitled “No Good Reason.” For a few more details, all you have to do is look at the official synopsis below:
“A teenager (guest star Brighton Sharbino) disappears after schoolmates make her the subject of a vicious cyberbullying attack. Starring Mariska Hargitay (Lt. Olivia Benson), Kelli Giddish (Det. Amanda Rollins), Raul Esparza (ADA Rafael Barba) and Peter Scanavino (Det. Sonny Carisi). Also guest starring Madison Pettis (Stacy Vanhoven), Colton Ryan (Andrew Drake) and Steve Rosen (Counselor Guthrie).”
This should be a very different role for Sharbino, so if you liked her on The Walking Dead (she never got enough credit for playing that completely-psychotic role) you are probably going to like what she does here. She’s also not the only guest actor you may have heard of in this episode — Madison Pettis has appeared in multiple episodes of The Fosters alongside Cory in the House and Lab Rats. She also has a rather-extensive voice acting career in spite of her young age.
New episodes of Law & Order: SVU are now on the air, so this may help to ease the wait until episode 4 airs. What is interesting is this is the first press release we’ve seen in a while for this show that does not have a specific Benson component included in it. After all, we know that she is in the middle of a pretty emotional and gut-wrenching story over her son Noah where it’s possible he could be taken from her. This has already brought Cassidy (Dean Winters) back to the show, and judging from what we’ve heard, he won’t be the only familiar face you see who is connected in one way or another to this show.
As for the specific case itself, we’re rather glad to be seeing cyberbulling addressed at this time for one principal reason more so than any other: It’s starting to feel as though we’re seeing some of these stories get swept under the rug because of the abundance of other terrible things that are going on in the world. These stories do still matter, and we hope that society doesn’t forget about them. It may still be cynical to proclaim that children are the future, but it does very much remain true. Let’s hope the show paints this in a realistic, impactful way.
