Outlander season 3 episode 5 preview: The Print Shop scene is nigh…

Outlander season 3 episode 5

Will the Print Shop scene arrive on Outlander season 3 episode 5? Unless the series is giving you a devastating cliffhanger, it seems like it could be the case. “Freedom & Whisky” is the title for this upcoming installment, and even that is another clue when you think for a moment about tonight’s episode — plus the journey that has allowed us to come to this specific place in time. This is around where the scene is slated to begin based on interviews that are already out there.

Before we dive too much further, the synopsis below via Starz does allow for some additional opportunities to describe what’s next…

Outlander season 3 episode 5 synopsis – “As Brianna grapples with the life-changing revelations of the past summer, Claire must help her come to terms with the fact that she is truly her father’s daughter – her 18th century Highlander father. To complicate matters further, Roger brings news that forces Claire and Brianna to face an impossible choice.”

Does Roger find something that allows Claire to go back to find Jamie once and for all? That is certainly possible, given that the promo below does feature her back searching for Jamie in the past. It also gives you Brianna in the midst of a heart-to-heart with her mother, one where she makes it clear to her that she cannot live with the idea of Claire staying back for her sake. The only reason Jamie wanted Claire to go back to her present was to ensure Brianna had a happy, safe childhood; this is a chance for her to go back to the life that she once had.

Now that we’ve said that…

This is a very different life than the one Claire remembers. While we imagine their reunion to be passionate and then some, eventually they will have quite a bit to discuss. Jamie’s spent much of his time away from her as a prisoner in one form or another, and he very recently fathered another child in William. Meanwhile, for Claire she’s now become a doctor, raised Brianna, and lost Frank over the past couple of decades. She’s seen a great deal and brings those experiences into their relationship now.

The one thing that does matter most of all is the deep love that the two characters have for each other, and provided that this said deep love is still there, we do at least think there’s a good chance that they will be able to push forward and overcome many of the obstacles that are in their way. If you’ve read the Diana Gabaldon source material Voyager, you know a good bit already about what some of these obstacles are.
