Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 3 preview: Will Amelia tell Owen the truth?

What’s coming up on Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 3? Well for one, we’re getting a blast from the past! It’s been years since Harper Avery was a part of the show, but he is the sort of character who will make waves almost any time that he turns up. This is just what happens whenever you end up getting a chance to see someone this prominent on the show, at least in terms of the medical world that has been constructed on it. The man has an entire award named after him!

Grey’s Anatomy season 14 episode 3 synopsis – “Harper Avery arrives at Grey Sloan, putting Bailey on edge. A familiar face from Meredith’s past returns as a patient, and Amelia tries to manage a secret.”

There is going to be a considerable amount of story being told in this episode, but what is Bailey on edge this time going to look like? It’s almost something that should feel reasonably normal to her at the moment, mostly because of what she’s gone through and also what she recently dealt with when it comes to Eliza Minnick coming on board. She’s basically come to learn very well over the years that being a leader comes with some consequences. Anything she does can lead to her getting a lot of attention, both of the good and bad variety. We’re certainly intrigued in seeing just how this will unfold.

Meanwhile, we’re always going to be glad anytime that we have a chance to see great stories featuring Ellen Pompeo and Caterina Scorsone. What’s not to like there? The major struggle is probably just going to be readjusting to the one-episode format after being treated to the first two episodes of the season tonight.

Now that we’ve watched the full two-hour premiere, we understand more of the secret that Amelia has, and it’s a big one: She has a brain tumor, and a rather enormous one. This may explain some of her erratic behavior, and the question that does stem from this now is this: Will there ever be a way for her to recovery? Is she now doomed? All of these thoughts are devastating, even if it means that a great Scorsone performance is coming.
