The Good Doctor episode 2 spoilers: What’s next for Freddie Highmore show?
Luckily, we do think that there are some things that The Good Doctor has going for it entering the coming weeks. For one, Freddie Highmore is a capable young star with a huge following from Bates Motel and his other early work. Meanwhile, David Shore is a showrunner with a ton of experience in this space from House. We do think that there is a similar audience carryover with this show and Dancing with the Stars, and ABC needs to find a way to get a winner in this timeslot. This was at one point a really stable spot for the network with Castle, but the ratings weren’t even that great for the Nathan Fillion – Stana Katic series in its final season (we feel like we’ve already explained what happened there enough over the years). We need to see a show in the spot that can consistently deliver.
The Good Doctor episode 2 synopsis – “Dr. Shaun Murphy’s attention to detail complicates his first day at St. Bonaventure Hospital. Meanwhile, Dr. Claire Browne learns a valuable lesson about honesty when confronted with a difficult diagnosis for her patient.”
We think The Good Doctor has the potential to deliver some good challenges for Highmore’s Murphy throughout the series, given that he’s a character not only taking on tough cases, but he has to make adjustments to his own personality and conquer problems there every step of the way. This is a very different show and role for him, so we’re curious to see what the ratings are tomorrow and how the show progresses from here.
