Ready to check out a Lucifer season 3 cast photo in preparation for the show coming back on the air? Luckily, we’ve got that!
The image above is your first look at the new cast, and it’s a great group that includes the likes of Tom Welling, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Tricia Helfer, Aimee Garcia, Kevin Alejandro, Lauren German, Tom Ellis and Lesley-Ann Brandt. This is a cast that hopefully will bring a lot of interesting, at-times funny stuff to the table, with the right dose of drama mixed in there, as well. Isn’t seeing Welling in the photo such a treat? We continue to think that getting him on this show was the biggest casting coup of the summer, especially since there have been so many shows over the years who have wanted him. Personally, we just think that he joined this show because it was a chance to do something different, and take on a very different sort of character than we’ve seen him play in the past.
Beyond him, we of course have some excitement still over the chance to see Tricia Helfer back for the second straight season as Charlotte. The big difference this time around is that she’s not “Mom” as Charlotte; this time, she’s just Charlotte, and you’re going to get a chance to learn more of who this character is separate from the woman who overtook her body. We’re mostly just interested in seeing how she makes it back onto the show — we’re happy that she did, but it’s not something that we previously expected.
One of the other interesting observations that we have upon looking at this group together is all of the great genre clout that exists here from start to finish. Think about it — you’ve got people featured here from Once Upon a Time, Battlestar Galactica, Dexter, Smallville, and True Blood all on a single show. That’s a pretty incredible array of shows, and we do actually think that some of the history that exists there with some of these performers on other shows is one of the primary reasons why Lucifer does work so well. It gives you such a nice array of different talent from shows that worked very well for many years! Add to that a great team behind the scenes and you have a show that knows when to have fun, but also when to step in and try to be more serious at the same time. We do hope that, one way or another, Lucifer finds a way to give you both some of the great comedy and the emotional injections that you’ve come to expect over time.
