Law & Order: SVU season 19: See Brooke Shields, Mariska Hargitay behind the scenes
In a new post on Instagram, you can see Shields alongside none other than Mariska Hargitay, working behind the scenes at the hit NBC show. We know that Shields is going to play a big part on the series, and to be specific, it’s one that is very much different than any other that she’s played before. What we’re excited about with that is mostly that it means that she was willing to take some big risks when it comes to taking this part on, which we appreciate since that often leads to some of the best performances.
There isn’t any indicator as to how long Shields will stick around, but she is a part of an impressive guest cast for this season given that you also have Philip Winchester playing a major arc in the role of Peter Stone. Beyond that, a fan favorite character in Cassidy will be back for the upcoming premiere. One of the many benefits that comes with being around for this long is that it affords you the opportunity to bring back old favorites, plus also new characters like Stone with ties to both other shows (the canceled Chicago Justice) and the Law & Order franchise as a whole.
Interestingly enough, this Instagram post from Shields is really indicative by and large of what we actually want to see with her on season 19: Either working with or facing off against Hargitay’s Olivia Benson. We want to see these women share as much screen time as possible since they’ll either be formidable opponents or strong allies. One way or another, we do know that they are each in demand on a show like this and a key component in what makes it so great.
