NCIS season 15 debate: Should Diane Neal return as Abigail Borin?
Heck, there’s even been times here and there where we’ve advocated for a CGIS spin-off featuring Diane Neal as a lead. Rather than creating more NCIS series at this point that feature roughly the same sort of thing, doesn’t it make some sense to shake things up ever so slightly? We here at CarterMatt like to think so.
For the time being, though, we’d settle for getting another Diane Neal appearance on NCIS season 15 proper, given that it’s actually been a little while now since we’ve seen her turn up on the show. She hasn’t been on the flagship show since 2014, and she was most recently on the New Orleans iteration back in 2014. While we’d be happy to see her appear on either, it’d be nice to get her back on NCIS proper. She’s got a great rapport with Gibbs, she gets some of the characters a little closer to the water (it’s nice to have some geographical change-ups), and it introduces some different workplace dynamics. For example, there are several characters on this show at the moment who we haven’t seen her work with.
In general, our feeling is that it makes sense to see Neal and the CGIS for at least a couple of episodes a season. Obviously, she’s not going to be around for every case, and nor does she need to be. We just like the opportunity to continue branching out to other law-enforcement agencies on the show, and to offer the characters a chance to do something different alongside people that they come to know over time.
Do you want to see Abigail Borin on NCIS season 15?
Be sure to sound off in the comments! Meanwhile, if you haven’t seen our take here at CarterMatt on the NCIS season 15 trailer, you can do that over at the link here right now. New episodes will officially kick off in just a couple of weeks on the network, and we’ll have even more news before then. (Photo: CBS.)

Definitely they need a funny character in the show since Michael left

Diane Neal is smart, beautiful, and sexy! She is who I prayed would be Ziva’s replacement instead of Bishop. But NOOOOOO!

They should have Abigail Borin back & Diane Neal playing her again. She is a good companion for Gibbs.

I hope Diane Neal does come back. She was good on there and also she was good on SVU. I hope they give her a show of her own. She is a talented actress.

not gonna happen. She had a falling out with the producers and I don’t think she’ll return

I likewise read her tweets. I have a real concern for the professionalism of anyone in any field who takes to social media first in their rants before going to the boss who could have solved the problem. I would say she has burned her bridges. I hope she learned from the experience.

The shame about the whole thing is that Diane Neal seemed to have a lock on at least 1 or more NCIS season episodes and was in position to be a recurring regular on NCISNOLA. NBC’s “The Following” was cancelled shortly after at the end of the season-so that job was gone. She is a very talented and hard-working actress–but her bridges with CBS may very well have been burned

I apologize beforehand for the long post–but I happened to be one of the people who actually saw Diane Neal’s twitter melt-down rant on the night of March 18,2015 after a long shooting day of NCIS New Orleans episode “Rock a Bye Baby”.At first she just appeared to be venting about an exhausting day,Soon it was apparent she was very upset about an episode director and safety issues–but she was alternating between NBC’s “The Following” and NCISNOLA–she then answered a concerned fan with “Which show?I’m in New Orleans and wearing a badge.Guess” responses kept getting more emotional-she said she felt like she was being used like a “rented mule” She repeatedly stated that others kept contacting her to stop posting that night or it could ruin her career but she would not stop and if it meant never getting another acting assignment with CBS”That’s just fine by me”.The next morning of March 19 she posted on her twitter (still on her twitter feed)”So that part is my fault for not going to the big guy first. So I’ll delete those tweets.Forget what you can.And signing off indefinitely.”

I’d love to see her back on the NCIS mother-ship as well as NCIS New Orleans and even NCIS LA, but I was lead to believe by some media reports that Diane Neal has complained about dangerous conditions on the set when she was filming a NCIS NO episode and that had severed ties with the franchise.

She didn’t just “complain”. Every normal person would have gone to the responsible person but instead of doing that, Diane decided to rant on her social media account. That’s unprofessional. I wouldn’t be surprised if she doesn’t get the chance to work on any CBS show/project in the future.
