Killjoys season 4 renewal official; series to end after season 5
Let’s start things off here with the part of the story that may put a smile on your face: The network is going to be bringing the series back for not just one, but two more seasons. Unfortunately, Killjoys season 5 will be the final season of the show. Killjoys season 4 and the one that follows will each run for ten episodes, and having this much advance word should give the powers that be ample time in order to wrap up the story.
In a statement confirming the news, Bill McGoldrick, Executive Vice President Scripted Development for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, had the following to say:
“Helmed by Lovretta and driven by the superb storytelling, we are excited to bring Killjoys back for two final seasons … Tonight’s game-changing season finale sets the tone for the final chapters of our bounty hunter’s space adventures and we cannot wait for our talented cast and crew to bring to life what is sure to be an epic journey that will leave our passionate fans on the edge of their seats.”
Meanwhile, creator Michelle Lorvetta added the following:
“This renewal is the kind of privilege every creator hopes for – a chance to plan the end of your story with the luxury of 20-episodes to do it … I’m immensely grateful that both of our network partners – along with Temple Street and UCP – have given our team, cast and fans this incredible opportunity.”
Even though it may be a tremendous disappointment for many people out there to see the end of Killjoys in a couple of years, you have to still consider this a victory. For Syfy to actually keep a show around for this long is pretty incredible, given that most of their original series are lucky to last just a matter of two or three seasons. We write this today as someone who is still very much bitter about the end of Dark Matter, which was canceled today without the show having much in the way of a proper ending.
When could Killjoys season 4 premiere?
For the being, there is no precise air date … but we personally feel as though the series is going to, more than likely, be coming back next summer. This is when the show seems to work the best, and it has yet to premiere in a month that is not either June or July. Why mess around with things now? The only argument for doing that is that you know the show is ending and you want to do a little bit of an experiment instead and see if something works a little bit better when airing at a different time.
What do you think about the Killjoys season 4 renewal?

Congratulations to the fans of Killjoys. Two more seasons before it ends. Dark Matter people are very unhappy.
