This Is Us season 2: Mandy Moore celebrates Big Three’s birthday in best way possible

The Big Three’s birthday is here! For fans of This Is Us out there, you know that this is a cause for great celebration. This is a show that does often make a meal out of some of these holidays — often they are sad, but there are also others that are heartwarming and even fun.

For the sake of this specific article, one of the things that we do want to focus on here is how Mandy Moore managed to rope some of her TV children into the party. In the video below, you can see Moore alongside Mackenzie Hancsicsak, Lonnie Chavis, and Parker Bates — who play the younger versions of Kate, Randall, and Kevin, and gets them involved in a dessert challenge that reminds us of the show’s very first episode. This is fun, and it also feels for a moment or two like an episode of MasterChef Junior with Mandy serving as the judge from the event. We love the thumbnail below just because everyone seems to be so happy to take part in the event.

There isn’t anything in here that is going to inform you of the season 2 story or how much we’re going to be seeing these kids on the show. Nonetheless, we do still think that it achieves the desired effect: Making you smile and reminding you why you love some of the show. This is also one of the benefits that come with having a hit show, since it enables you an opportunity to do fun things like this where the majority of your audience understands precisely what it is you’re doing.

This video comes less than a month after This Is Us season 2 actually premieres on NBC. Over the course of that, you could get some additional opportunities to learn more about the Big Three, their childhood, and how they’re pressing on in their adult lives. There are also going to be some clues and teases about Jack’s death pretty early on in the story — though you probably aren’t going to get anything concrete right away.
