In the video below, you can see the full lineup of coaches discussing what they’re excited about for this new season, and also more of what makes this particular coaching lineup special. For Hudson, you’ve got someone who is both new to the show, but also familiar to the franchise. She’s coming off of a big win on the British version of the show earlier this year, but this is a different series with a different sort of audience. There’s no guarantee that she is going to be as popular here, or that she will find the best team of the field.
Miley Cyrus, meanwhile, remains the most interesting coach to us given that she struggled last time she was on the show to bring forward singers who America really got behind. We did appreciate some of her creativity, but she hadn’t fully grasped the sort of artists that the American public tend to go for completely at that time. This will be a better opportunity to see and start to experience some of that. She also has an interesting strategy this time, as she’s going to try to poach some of the country performers who are coming on the show presumably to land a spot on Team Blake Shelton. (For the record, we give this a 1% chance of this happening — there is nothing more boring on this show than seeing the near-constant parade of people come on board and proclaim that they want to work with Blake after doing a country song in their blind audition.)
Obviously, the show does still have Adam and Blake as a part of the equation, and if you’ve watched it with regularity over the years, you know very well precisely what it is that the two guys bring to the table. We know that they’ll be entertaining, though at the same time their chemistry and antics are more or less expected at this point.
