Lucifer season 3 premiere: What should we see for Tom Ellis, cast?

Lucifer season 3 premiere

What should we get a chance to check out in the Lucifer season 3 premiere? It’s a great question, and one that is worthy of some more discussion.

Right now, at the top of the list of course is seeing some sort of resolution to what happened at the end of season 2 with Lucifer being stuck out in the middle of the desert / sprouting wings. What in the world does this mean, and how will it impact both his future and the relationships that he has with some other characters? Both of these are valuable questions in one way or another that the show really needs to take on. We do think that it’s not a game-changer in the sense of how some other characters react emotionally to him, but it could still be in the sense of it giving a little more insight as to just what’s happening within himself. Lucifer is someone who struggles often with a better sense of understanding who he is in the midst of the surrounding world; over the course of this episode, we could see him battle more with this. He comes from such a place of darkness, and yet we’ve seen many times over his desire and interest in trying to do good.

Beyond that, there are some other subjects that need to be broached:

Chloe – Where is she at now? We know that we’ll be seeing Tom Welling stop by for a significant role, and he could serve as a romantic rival to Tom Ellis’ character. It would be great to meet him in the premiere and see how he better fits in to the picture.

Charlotte Richards – We know that Tricia Helfer is set to return for the third season, but we’d argue that there is no need to introduce her right away after the real Charlotte actually had a chance to move forward with her life. It probably diminishes her impact if Charlotte comes back right away, so take your time with this reveal.

The case – You need to get back to some of what originally made this show so great in the first place: The case-of-the-week component, where there is a crazy mystery every week that Lucifer, Chloe, and the rest of the team takes on. Make something really fun and wacky so that the show premieres tonally in the right space.

A larger mystery – Also, present something in the closing minutes that could play out over the remainder of the season, and could in turn be an additional reason in order to get viewers to watch the show live. The more of that we get, the better off we’re going to get in the end when the show progresses.
