The 100 season 5 spoilers: Shadowhunters’ Lola Flanery cast as Madi
In a new interview with TV Series Hub (confirmed by the show’s writers), young actress Lola Flanery confirmed that she is going to be playing this part. She is one of the last people on the earth, and she explains further what she’s excited for with this role:
“I have watched The 100, all of it in fact. After I found out I got the part I had a full binge session. I’ll be playing Madi , she and Clarke seem to be the last people on earth after Priamfaya. Clarke has become somewhat of a mother figure for Madi , so I think that means Madi will also be a badass.”
It almost goes without saying that there are a lot of different reasons to be excited for when it comes to this storyline, especially since the time jump is going to allow for such a different flair, and in terms of a different series, than we’ve had a chance to see before. This storyline allots for opportunities to see these characters in very different lights — that is dictated in part by the time jump, and by the substantial distance separating Clarke and the rest of her crew from the majority of the rest of the characters.
One way or another, there is a lot to like here with this story and we’re thoroughly interested in seeing how the show raises the stakes. The 100 is a series that does rely on twists and putting its character through the wringer, and we figure that this is something that is going to be a part of this batch of episodes already. Oh, and death is probably sprinkled somewhere in there already given the fact that this is a show that loves to kill people off.
What else do we know about Flanery?
You more than likely know her from her role on Shadowhunters as the younger version of the Seelie Queen (the older version was played by Sarah Hyland in the closing episodes of the season). Beyond that, Flanery’s been very active this past year, having taken on roles on Spike’s The Mist to go along with Mary Kills People. We imagine that if she continues along at this pace, more roles will be there for her in the future.

Meanwhile, head over here in the event you do want to get some other news right now when it comes to the series. We imagine that a formal season 5 premiere date will be announced later in the fall, when The CW makes more of its midseason premiere dates clear. (Photo: The CW.)
