Hawaii Five-0 season 8 spoilers: Claire Forlani returning as Alicia Brown

How about this for some Hawaii Five-0 season 8 news destined to bright up your day? Claire Forlani will be back as Alicia Brown!

In a new post on Twitter, Forlani confirmed the news of her return with a really gorgeous photo, which serves in turn as a nice reminder of how lucky some of these people are to be filming in such an amazing place. It’s also a welcome return given that we love the relationship that McGarrett and Alicia have — also, it’s a chance to hopefully get more closure on whatever happened between her and Dr. Madison Gray. That whole storyline ended rather abruptly on this past season and there is a need for much more in the way of closure there.

What we know is that Hawaii Five-0 season 8 is definitely doing what they can to drive some excitement towards the start of the season. Given the news that Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park are out, it makes some sense that the likes of Forlani, Chris Vance, and other familiar faces would come back to keep a little bit of familiarity with the series. The producers obviously want to do their part in order to ensure that it doesn’t feel as though we’re getting an entirely different show this time around, even if there are some elements of it that have evolved over time.

We’re hoping that by the end of this season, even more familiar faces will have returned — but for now, we’ll take things one guest star at a time. Given how long production’s been underway, we would presume that Forlani won’t be on the show until the third or fourth episode of the season, at the earliest. The premiere episode should serve as a means to wrap up the stories of Chin (Kim) and Kono (Park), while also paving the way for the future of the Five-0 Task Force and taking on the health crisis that McGarrett is in after the radiation poisoning was revealed in the most-recent finale. Executive producer Peter M. Lenkov confirmed already that there are no plans to kill Alex O’Loughlin’s character off, so you can at least enter the new season with that weight off your shoulders.

The biggest question moving into Hawaii Five-0 season 8, (beyond the character departures) is what the theme for this batch of episodes will be? Season 7 was largely a story about legacy and defining the future; what more is there for some of these characters to define now that some of these plans are more secure?
