Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: The plan entering Veto Ceremony (day 41, morning)

Veto Ceremony

The Veto Ceremony is coming later in day 41 of Big Brother 19but what’s going to happen leading into that? Well, that is something that is worthy of some discussion, especially with Paul considering throwing out some crazy ideas yesterday.

As of this morning, he seems content to keeping with the original plan of leaving Jessica and Cody on the block and removing Jason with the Veto. This ensures that either one of them leaves or nobody leaves this week, and we’re leaning more towards the latter. With Jessica and Cody getting closer again after a fight early yesterday, signs point to her wanting to save him. Despite whatever talks she may have with Elena/others, there are two things that will almost surely make her use the Hex.

1. She doesn’t want to be the person responsible for sending her boyfriend home from the game, and if she uses it, she’ll have to live with that. Cody’s been down in the dumps this week, but the idea of him being able to play for the next Head of Household Competition will likely change that as the week goes on.

2. She doesn’t want to give Paul any satisfaction of being able to send Cody home, and she will probably bite that apple as opposed to trying to trust him. Smart move.

Overnight, Paul did contemplate getting rid of Jessica this week if she doesn’t play the temptation, given that this would ensure that she can’t use it in the future and the whole house would be left just to target Cody. This is the right move: If you have a chance to knock out someone with a twist, you knock them out. Cody’s a great competitor, but he’d have to make a historic competition run to win the game from this point and we’re not sure that he has all of the skills in order to do that. This isn’t Kevin Martin from this past Big Brother Canada season.

Much of this talk is fairly moot given that the Halting Hex will likely be used and Jessica/Cody will both stay, but it is interesting to play through some of the different scenarios and what we are. What’s the most interesting to us is that there are players who are each thinking about making moves that are ultimately against their better judgment: There is little reason for Jessica to contemplate not using the Hex when she is on the block, just as there is little reason for Paul to contemplate removing her from the block just for the sake of proving something. In the end, better judgment often wins out.
