Shooter season 2 episode 3 spoilers: Bob Lee, Isaac, and dealing with death

Shooter season 2 episode 3

Even as we move forward into Shooter season 2 episode 3 on USA next week, Bob Lee and Julie Swagger will be feeling the past. You don’t exactly shake off the sort of stuff that they went through in the premiere — it’s probably easier for Bob Lee to do that because of his past, but he’s not some automaton who doesn’t feel emotion at all. It hurts him, and more than that, seeing Julie hurt and struggling hurts him. She’s not built for coping with this sort of trauma, and will likely struggle for some time amidst the shooting aftermath. He’s also going to be focused on the mission, and in turn, may not be there for her as much as he should be.

The first thing that we like about 2×03 comes via its title: “Don’t Mess with Texas.” There’s obviously a theme here with “Remember the Alamo” airing this week — we’re a former Texas resident, so anytime the Lone Star State gets some props in a non-stereotypical way we’re going to be pretty psyched about it. Beyond just that, the title makes some sense when you consider what Bob Lee’s up to.

Shooter season 2 episode 3 synopsis – “Bob Lee finds Isaac Johnson in Texas after an attempt on his life. Nadine discovers just how much influence Patricia Gregson wields, and a traumatized Julie fights to stay strong for her family.”

What’s been established so far this season is fairly simple: Bob Lee and the rest of his former team are finding themselves targets in a manhunt, and whoever is going after them is doing so with both deliberate and malicious intent. They’re probably not going to stop until they’ve got what they want out of the situation, so what Bob Lee and company should be doing at this point is banding together in hopes of delivering some sort of effective counterattack. The options are either that or clinging to each other for safety/staying out of the way. We’ve got a hard time thinking that these people are going to go down door #2, especially when you are Bob Lee and you’re one of the most famous snipers in the known world. We don’t think that there’s any point within his military training where he’s told to just sit back and take a chill pill. They will probably fight back, but what that looks like, and what the endgame here could be, is what we’re watching the show to find out.

Promo Spoilers – Isaac’s wife is dead, and dealing with that aftermath won’t be easy. Meanwhile, both he and Swagger are going to realize that what happened with the drugs is really about to start impacting their future.
