TNT’s Claws episode 8 spoilers: Desna, Virginia, and degrees of danger

Claws episode 8

Is it fair to say heading into Claws episode 8 that we’re in the home stretch of the season? We like to think so. After all, the stakes have never been higher for the series and its main characters — especially Desna and Virginia.

What we’ve got for you now are some of the first details regarding “Teatro,” which is the new episode airing next week. This is one that tries to pick up the pieces from the week before; in looking beyond that, however, there is another struggle awaiting Desna and Virginia. Whether it be due to the Desna/Virginia drama or some other issues, over the final three episodes things are only going to escalate.

Claws episode 8 synopsis – “With a shocking revelation affecting the entire crew, Jennifer (Jenn Lyon) finds unexpected solace in her square-dancing instructor, Hank (Hunter Burke). Polly (Carrie Preston) uses all of her powers of bad for good, for the first time, while Quiet Ann (Judy Reyes) is torn about a big decision. Scary times are in store for Virginia (Karrueche Tran), but for Desna (Niecy Nash) most of all.”

Obviously, the decision for Quiet Ann is the story that leaves our hair standing on end, given that she remains a personal favorite — when she does speak or act, it matters more than it does with almost any other character.

The latest ratings update

At this point, there is a good chance you know that Claws will be coming back for a second season on TNT. The question that goes along with that is when it will premiere and also what the viewership will be at around that time.

The good news at the moment is that the show’s numbers are better than they’ve been, which is extremely rare for a show so many weeks into its run. This past episode (which aired on July 16) tied its series high with a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Meanwhile, it set a new high in total viewers with more than 1.25 million watching. Impressive, no? It’s certainly nice to see people checking out a weekly series in 2017, an era where ratings tend to decline across the board.
