Big Brother 19 episode 12 review: Who returned in Battle Back competition?

Battle Back Competition

The Battle Back competition is coming tonight on Big Brother 19and we imagine already that this is going to be fun. Dominique, Cody, Cameron, and Jillian will be fighting to return to the competition, and we’ve heard in advance that this is going to be done a little bit differently than the competition was in the past.

Here’s the big twist: If they want to return to the game, they have to face off against someone in the house. That’s a little bit different, so we’ll see how that plays out. Obviously, our pre-show prediction is that Cody makes it back in just because he’s Cody. Plus, none of the other contestants have shown that they have the same sort of ability to be a physical threat.

There are three competitions for the houseguests to compete in. The two winners of the first one go into the second one. Meanwhile, the one remaining houseguest from the second competition will face off against a member of the house. If they beat that houseguest, they are back in the game!

The first test tonight was basically about finesse — after all, we’re talking about a puzzle. Cody saying that he lacks finesse is probably the most true statement ever. Yet, he was actually better at this competition than anyone; he was the first person to finish, and then the second person to finish was … Cameron! It’d be hilarious if he makes it back.

The second battle

Cody and Cameron had to square off in what was effectively a battle to shoot down panels using a slingshot. This was a fun competition, and we liked it given that there was no physical advantage. This was intense! Cameron started off with a good lead, but Cody switched up his technique, and that allowed him to move on while Cameron struggled near the end. Sucks for Cameron, who was barely a part of this season.

The final showdown

This is where things get intense. The rest of the house understandably voted Paul to square off against who was an unknown competitor to them. Of course, it was Cody, and from there the two guys had to square off for Cody’s ability to return to the game.

Given that this was a modified version of the maze that Cody had just won earlier, it was pretty darn clear that he was going to win. He had a HUGE advantage in that he’d done it already, and he basically used the same strategy that he did the first time around in order to succeed at it. This means that the one-time villain of the show (people seem to like him more now) is back in the game.
