iZombie season 4: Robert Knepper promoted to series regular

Robert Knepper

It’s that time of year when Comic-Con reveals details about the upcoming seasons of fan favorite shows, including iZombie‘s Robert Knepper has been promoted to a series regular.

According to Entertainment Weekly, fans were met with the ultimate game changer during the Season 3 finale when it was revealed that the world now knows about zombies. And stars Rose Mclver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, David Anders, and Aly Michalka along with EPs Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright attended the San Diego Comic-Con panel to talk about what fans can expect from Season 4.

One of the biggest reveals was that Robert Knepper was promoted. Announced to the audience from a video message, the promotion means that Angus is back, even EP Thomas confirmed it.

“Angus is going to get out of the well and he’s going to be up to no good and he’s going to have some very hardcore violent pro-zombie people on his side.”

So how will Angus get out of the well? Did someone let him out or did he escape? We believe it was the latter. Angus is an intelligent man and revenge has always been his driving force so he probably wants revenge on his son, Blaine, for trapping him in the well. As for how he exactly gets out, fans will have to wait and see.

But fans should know that Angus won’t be the only “bad guy” around. Thomas revealed that a human terrorist organization that doesn’t want to see any zombie-human fraternization will also cause chaos. The villains this season will also be anyone from angry humans to angry zombies and everything in between that will come after the characters from all sides.

Another spoiler discussed at the panel was the Discovery Day twist. According to Thomas this twist was always planned for Season 4 and allows them “so many more stories” to tell.

Star Rose Mclver also told fans that the city will now be called New Seattle because it will be a walled-in community “where zombies and humans are trying to live together” and that her character, Liz, will have a bit of a “rebellious streak”. However, the big change coming to New Seattle will be that every detective will have a zombie partner to work with. The city will also have a refugee crisis on its hands due tot he fact that anyone with a terminal disease wants to get scratched. However, Chase makes scratching human illegal for zombies.

A big fan question that the cast didn’t provide an answer for is whether or not Ravi will be human or zombie when the show returns. However, Kohli did reveal that while his character loves playing “the human dynamic,” the zombie side will be “tempting” for him.

As for Major, he is back to his normal zombie ways and Buckley reveals that he was found a home at Fillmore-Graves. Buckley told fans that Ravi believes in their cause and likes what they’re doing. Meanwhile, Chase Graves will be back. Overall, fans should be extremely excited for the upcoming season.
