Looking at Longmire season 6 release date possibilities through other shows

One of the things that we’ve tried to put on our detective caps for as of late is figuring out some of the best Longmire season 6 release date possibilities. It’s a show that is clearly in demand, and we’re now at the moment where this is basically the one thing that everyone is waiting for. Save for editing, ADR work, and other post-production, filming for the show is done. Netflix has to figure out when they want the show back, and then after that the countdown clocks can specifically start ticking away.

One of the things that we thought would be useful for the sake of this article is starting to check off some of the dates when the show won’t be premiering based on the information that is currently out there from other shows. The first thing to remember here is that Netflix tends to release their original series on Fridays with a few exceptions; meanwhile, they don’t tend to release more than one original series a week, at least in terms of one catered to adults. They don’t want to lose some of the buzz and the anticipation that they would have going for it.

September 8 – The premiere date for BoJack Horseman — though, to be fair, we never thought that Longmire would be premiering this early in the first place. (For the record, BoJack is a brilliant satire. We never thought going into it that we would end up enjoying it anywhere near as much as we do.)

September 22 – Premiere date for Fuller House, or at least the first half of the new season. It has many older viewers, and with that there’s no way that Netflix will want to release the show opposite one that they already have a significant fan following for. Best to look at some other dates here.

October 27 – Premiere date for Stranger Things, though we never expected the show to premiere this late, either. Longmire should be out there for consumers by early to mid October, at the latest.

There’s one other date that we want to remind you of at the moment, and that is September 26. That’s the date that the fifth season DVD will be released, and it’s be a huge surprise to us to see the show come out on Netflix with its final season before the current batch of episodes hits the home-video market.

It’s with all of this in mind that we’d like to pinpoint a few dates for you: September 29, October 6, and October 13 — which just so happens to be our birthday and having Longmire on it would probably help to compensate for the fact that Friday the 13th is never a day associated with such good fortune. Unless Netflix pulls a fast one and premieres Longmire on a different day, all signs point to it launching at one of these points.
