Shades of Blue season 3 spoilers: Chicago PD alum Nick Wechsler signs up

Shades of Blue season 3 is going to be premiering on NBC at some point in the new year; with that, why not celebrate Nick Wechsler’s casting?

According to a new report coming in from Deadline, the former Revenge actor, who recently also had an arc as Kenny Rixton on NBC’s Chicago PD, is going to be stopping by the Jennifer Lopez series to play a fairly substantial role over the course of the stories coming up. His role is going to be that of Detective Cole, which is still a part widely shrouded in some mystery. If it is like any other role on the series, however, there are a few different things that we can presume from it, beginning with the fact that it’s going to be a part that has some sort of moral ambiguity and there is far more going on here than what you are initially going to see on the surface. This is, after all, a show that loves to deal more in terms of complexities. There are twists and turns aplenty, and we imagine that we will get a chance to see even more of these develop over the course of his arc.

This news about Shades of Blue is coming just around the time that Chicago PD and its sister show Chicago Fire are gearing up for their own new seasons. We know that there is still some potential that Rixton could return on PD in the future, given that he was hardly written out of the show the last time in a way that negates him from stopping by in the future. We know that for us, we’d love to see him back just because there are still so many more interesting stories that could be told there.

For the time being, though, let’s focus on the task at hand, and we’re very much thrilled to see him join the Shades of Blue family in some shape or form.
