TNT’s Claws episode 7 spoilers: Will Desna get free of Uncle Daddy?

When TNT’s Claws episode 7 airs on the network in one week’s time, Niecy Nash’s character of Desna may feel like her freedom is near. For most of the series to date, she’s been under the thumb of one person or another, whether it be Roller in the early going or Uncle Daddy’s larger operation now.

Moving into this episode, though, she may find a surprising venue for her freedom. That’s worth celebrating, but there’s another problem she may need to consider at the same time. Nothing within her world has proven to be easy; she may get what she wants in the end but will face every trial and tribulation in the known world first.

Claws episode 7 synopsis – “After the big nail competition, Desna (Niecy Nash) may finally get out from Uncle Daddy’s (Dean Norris) grasp. Jennifer (Jenn Lyon) struggles knowing Desna’s dark secret, while Polly (Carrie Preston) discovers her previously unknown maternal instincts. Meanwhile, Dean (Harold Perrineau) may have found his first feelings of romantic love and makes a discovery that threatens to destroy everyone he knows and loves.”

Does all of that sound interesting to anyone else? For us, the idea of Dean dealing with so many highs and lows tops the list of what we’re excited about. Perrineau is a tremendous actor, and we hope that this role gets a little bit of attention for him come awards season. (Good luck to whoever determines whether or not this is a comedy or a drama.)

The latest ratings

While there’s not as much of a need to sweat the show’s performance given that it’s already been ordered for a second season, there’s still good news to report here! This past episode generated in total a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.19 million viewers to go along with that. The demo rating is right in line with the season average, while the viewership is slightly above normal. Given that the majority of the shows out there tend to fall as the season progresses, there is absolutely something to celebrate here when it comes to the show’s consistency. Few other programs achieve anywhere close to this, and it’s clear that viewers out there are liking what they’re seeing.
