The Originals season 5 spoilers: Meet new character Margot
Here’s what we know in terms of preliminary details. According to a new report coming in from TVLine, the CW series is casting a vampire by this name who’s been around for a good century or so, and has a background of being in Europe. She’s only recently arrived to New Orleans, so she should be getting used to that particular world when the show does pick back up. Will she have a history of being around some other members of the Mikaelson family already? We absolutely wonder that, given that otherwise, it’s an interesting choice to throw someone with such a long life into the world of the show at this particular time.
We’re going to have a chance to see a wide array of different things when season 5 does premiere, mostly given that the entire landscape of the show is going to be far and away different from what it was during season 4. It looks as though we’re jumping forward a fairly substantial period of time, which does make some sense given that with the ending of season 4 in mind, the Mikaelsons probably aren’t going to be spending time with each other anytime soon. Hope is going to be much older, and could be in some ways similar to where we saw Elena at the start of The Vampire Diaries. Maybe there is a nice full-circle quality to this show, given that we’re traveling forward in time and focusing more on what happens when characters do get older after growing up in a strange supernatural world. We have to imagine that having Klaus as a father is an interesting experience; luckily, Hope presumably will have some good mentors in her life in Caroline and Alaric, provided that they are still running the show.
Alas, there is still no official word as to if Candice King is returning to the CW series for more, but we’re certainly hopeful given that Caroline is an enormous part of the franchise and she has that history with Klaus to boot.
