The Bachelorette: Jordan Rodgers, JoJo Fletcher in no hurry for wedding

Jordan Rodgers

Mrs. Carter: Are Jordan Rodgers and JoJo Fletcher getting close to a wedding, more than a year removed from The Bachelorette?

It was more than a year ago when the two first got engaged at the end of her season of the show, but it does turn out that the two are still going strong and have been fairly immune to many of the breakup rumors that have befallen many other past couples who have done the show over time. With that being said, that doesn’t actually mean that they are close at all to planning a wedding. They are looking at their relationship realistically, and that means distancing themselves somewhat from the franchise. Note that we haven’t heard much from them in the Bachelor Nation world since JoJo’s season, and judging from what Jordan said recently to The Hollywood Reporter, there are no plans for them to have ABC air the wedding in the future.

Jordan also explained further why he and JoJo are waiting so long in order to figure out what their wedding date should be:

“The commitment to each other is absolutely still there and that’s something we are going to do … We’re also figuring out our life. We’re learning more about each other every single day, what our life is going to look like and where it’s going to be. Both of our careers and what we’re passionate about. So we’re enjoying this time of being engaged, continuing to date and court each other, and getting to know each other even more. And then when the time is right, we’re absolutely going to sit down and start planning that.”

Ultimately, we do think that these two do have the right philosophy when it comes to figuring out their life and their future, mostly because you don’t want to rush some of these things. Also, these two have been traveling all of the place. Thanks to Jordan’s new job covering the SEC, he’s in a different part of the country almost all of the time doing work; meanwhile, JoJo’s job in real estate is something that eats up a lot of time, as well. They’re both very successful away from the franchise, and that may in turn help them not feel this inherent need to come back into it.

If this is the strategy that JoJo and Jordan are taking when it comes to how they want to operate with their relationship, hopefully they’ll stick to that in the event that a ton of money is sent their way. If there is one thing that we know by now, it is that ABC does very much like to broadcast weddings. Just look at what they choose to do this summer with Evan Bass and Carly Waddell.

Meanwhile, head over here in the event you want some additional news right now when it comes to the show. (Photo: ABC.)
