Curb Your Enthusiasm season 9 premiere date announced

Curb Your Enthusiasm

Get excited, Curb Your Enthusiasm fans, because the show is returning to HBO on October 1, 2017.

After a six year hiatus the Emmy-award winning show’s season 9 will make its debut with Larry David, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, Susie Essman, J.B Smoove, Richard Lewis, and Bob Einstein. Mary Steenburgen, Ted Danson, and Lauren Graham are set to recur in he new season. The ninth season will include 10 episodes.

The teaser video features David dressed like an ancient Greek with a toga and a leaf crown rotating a podium. As he rotates the accompanying words “He left. He did nothing. He returned” flash on the screen. This subtle and funny note to the famous Julius Caesar quote “He came. He saw. He conquered” reminds fans that its going to be a funny season.

When fans last saw David’s alter ego he had traveled to Paris in an elaborate attempt to avoid going to an event for sick children with Michael J. Fox. This is probably not the sort of stunt that would work for most shows, but with this one, it does fit in well with the character.

Curb Your Enthusiasm follows Larry David as an over-the-top, fictionalized version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. With 80 episodes to date, the show is HBO’s longest-running scripted comedy or drama series. It’s certainly also been one that kept you waiting for a long time for it to come back. At this point, HBO and David have a relationship where he can come back and make more of the show when he is comfortable doing so.

It will be interesting to see what adventures David will get himself into. Starting with what will bring Larry David back to the United States? With this show anything is possible

In the six year gap, David has had numerous roles including a number of Saturday Night Live episodes playing Bernie Sanders, as well The League, Maya and Marty, and HBO’s Clear History. He’s also done a great deal of great work on the stage, and his well-known for his work helping to run NBC’s Seinfeld.
