Eileen Davidson leaving Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Eileen Davidson

Alas, there is some bad news for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans: Eileen Davidson is leaving the franchise after three seasons.

In a new statement per TooFab, the soap icon made it clear that because of her work schedule, she’s now moving away from the Bravo series for the time being … at least as a permanent cast member:

“After a lot of careful thought, I’ve decided because of my crazy schedules at ‘The Young and The Restless,’ as well as ‘Days of Our Lives,’ it’s best for me and my family if I step away from being a ‘Housewife’ for now. But you never know, I might be popping in from time to time just to see what the ladies are up to! Thanks for your love and support guys!!!”

If we’re being totally honest, the first thing we’ll say here is that we’re shocked that Davidson actually agreed to be a Housewife in the first place, largely because we didn’t quite get exactly what was in it for her. She already has a great career, and plenty of co-stars who respect and enjoy working with her. This is just extra hours on top of an already crazy day, and she’s got a ton on her plate.

Ultimately, we’ll see now what the Beverly Hills series has to offer without her — we do certainly think that there is going to be a whole lot more drama, arguments, and everything else that we’ve come to expect over time. That also includes opulence, plenty of it.

The big thing to remember

With the tone of Eileen’s statement being what it is, we feel pretty darn confident that this is not the last we’ve seen from her on the franchise. She doesn’t seem to have any sort of ill will with the show, or want to abandon it in any shape or form. There are going to certainly be some further opportunities for her to take part in things with the franchise if she wants them. In the end, that may be up to her and where she is at the time.

We know that for us, so long as we’ve got some Erika Jayne antics and some of the standbys in Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump, we’re probably fine. Even if not all of them are our favorites within the show, they are three of the best representations of what this show is at this point.

The new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills may presumably start as early as later this year. Rest assured, this is far from the only news that we’re going to have on it before it premieres!
