When Teen Wolf season 6B premieres on July 30, there are some new faces you’ll meet — Halwyn the Hellhound is just one of them!
If you look below, you can see a first look at Casey Deidrick of Eye Candy fame in this role, who certainly seems every bit as imposing as another Hellhound in Parrish. We don’t know all that much about these characters across the board just yet, but our hope is that over the course of the upcoming episodes, a little bit more will start to become clear.
In terms of specifics, here is what we know right now about Halwyn via Entertainment Weekly.
1. The dude is ancient – While characters being around for over a hundred years while still looking good is hardly new for the Teen Wolf universe, it’s still notable here that Halwyn has been around for more than a century.
2. He used to be a resident of Eichen House – Hey, anything to tie the show back to everything that they’ve done so far, right? We do still think that season 5 was unnecessarily complicated at times, but some of the stuff with Eichen House was rather cool as we got to see the weird, the wonderful, and the psychological play out there.
3. He will have ties to a possible Big Bad – In the wake of the Ghost Riders and everything that happened in season 6A, a new evil is going to emerge. Whether or not Halwyn is a friend or foe is something that you’ll have to wait to find out.
Will Halwyn be the only new arrival?
Probably not, especially given the time jump and that Scott, Lydia, and many other characters will be a different place in their lives in season 6B than they were during their days in high school. The challenge for the show is going to be finding a way to balance newcomers with returning favorites, especially since this is the final batch of episodes and there will be a desire to see many interesting cameos from people who were on the show in the past. MTV, understandably, is being rather hush-hush on who will be coming back — we hope there are plenty of familiar faces, given that Teen Wolf was a launching pad for some many different people in between Colton Haynes, Tyler Hoechlin, and Dylan O’Brien, whose participation in the final episodes may be limited based on his other commitments.
If you missed it…
Yesterday, we posted for the first time both the return date for the series and the haunting first teaser, which suggested that there will be all sorts of hell for Scott coming up. We do want to believe that there will be a happy ending at the end of the series, but in true Teen Wolf fashion, there is probably going to be a whole lot of chaos coming for these people before we make it to the other side.
