Timeless season 2 will have Comic-Con panel
In a post on Twitter (see below), show co-creator Eric Kripke confirmed that on Thursday, July 20, the cast and producers will be in Room 6BCF of the San Diego Convention Center to throw themselves a little bit of a party in celebration of the show coming back on the air.
If there is any show worthy of a massive celebration right now, after all, it’s Timeless. Just consider the journey for a moment and how amazing it was that the show get another chance. NBC canceled it, and there wasn’t much of an indication that they were bringing it back until right before they did. after a massive fan outcry. This entire panel is a chance to bask in that win along with the fans. Will there be a few more teases handed down about the new season? We have to hope so, but the reality is that there are no guarantees, especially since it is not altogether clear if the writers have gotten together to talk about the new stories as of yet. We know that Kripke and fellow co-creator Shawn Ryan already pitched the folks over at NBC their vision for what the new season of the show could, so some of the groundwork is already in place.
Ultimately, the thing to know is this — it’s Timeless, and with that we’re almost certain that there will be more of what you loved about the first season in between the jumping between various time periods and the overall spirit of fun and adventure that was there the first time around. While there were definitely many serious moments, the show tonally never drifted into a space where you started to think that the Time Team were hopeless and incapable of getting the job done. They were heroes, and the show did a rather wonderful job of celebrating them as such. It also had some of that wonderful inspirational quality to it where you wanted to be aboard that Lifeboat with them, even if you knew in the process that it was dangerous.
