Teen Choice Awards 2017: Dylan O’Brien, Bob Morley, Jensen Ackles face off; who will win?

Year in and year out, the Choice Sci-Fi / Fantasy Actor is one of the most competitive categories at the Teen Choice Awards, and for good reason given that this is a field of super-popular people from super-popular shows. We also like it just because it’s fairly unpredictable and there is no guarantee who is going to win year in and year out.

This time around, we’ve got actors from Teen Wolf, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, The 100, and more competing for the prize. While we won’t know the winner until August, we can do our best to project it right now!

Remember, voting here is not official. This is just a fun way to gauge the popularity of the nominees, and if they align with what the Teen Choice Awards voters decide.

Sizing up the field

This is a field without a clear winner, and it’s also one where we could see almost anyone winning it in the end. Maybe Morgan has the lowest overall odds, but overall this is one of those categories that will be just about a fandom coming up with the right voting strategy.

Who will win

Like we said, this is close since there are avenues where we could foresee so many of them coming out on top. If we are thinking in terms of the hungriest fan base, it’s probably Shadowhunters and that gives Daddario an edge. It also helps him that his show is on the air this summer, and that the majority of its fans are teens who will have the desire to vote. Somerhalder may lose a little steam with The Vampire Diaries off the air, and while O’Brien is super-popular, he was only in a small handful of Teen Wolf season 6A.

Who should win

Ackles is always a crowd-pleaser, so it’s easy to vote for him just because we love Dean Winchester so much. As a sleeper pick, though, why not Bob Morley? While The 100 remains incredibly popular, it hasn’t gotten the same sort of awards-show love that many other CW shows have over the years. It would be pretty fun in order to see him come out on top this time.
