What should the iZombie season 4 premiere date be? Coming out of the season finale Tuesday night, it’s a question that everyone has on their mind and why wouldn’t they? Who doesn’t want more!?
Alas, this is also a question without much of a definite answer at the moment. The series starring Rose McIver, and David Anders is not a part of the CW fall schedule, and if we were to guess, we’d say that it is probably going to be a part of the midseason / spring schedule once more. This is a time of the year that the network clearly likes to air iZombie (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it), and it’s hard to have many objections to that since this is when the show is delivering the most in the ratings. Therefore, this may end up being the best possible venue for it once again, especially if it gets that lead-in viewership from The Flash even if it’s just for a small period of time. That’s still more than enough time for the show to be able to get some momentum going before the early summer.
No matter when the show does premiere, we just continue to be grateful that more is coming up at all, given just how the numbers for this show are near the bottom of the network’s viewership for programs that aren’t airing on Fridays. It doesn’t have a huge total audience, but it does have a wide array of fans. Not only that, but it does also bring something tonally that we like to think that The CW really needs: A show that combines humor and science fiction in ways that other shows do not. We’d say that Supernatural and The Flash both have their moments, but neither quite goes to the level that iZombie consistently does. We also figure that doing this show must be such fun for McIver, given that she does get to try out such a wide array of different characters within the skin of Liv.
