Kandi Burruss hints at crazier Real Housewives of Atlanta season 10

Somehow, The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 10 could be just as crazier or crazier than season 9. Just ask Kandi Burruss.

The singer, who performed with her band Xscape at the BET Awards last night, made it clear to Us Weekly that she is currently working on both her flagship reality show and one featuring her group — both are expected to air this fall, so you’re going to be getting to see a lot of Kandi in a pretty condensed way.

Meanwhile, she also had the following to say about the next Atlanta season … which brings us back to the whole “crazy” topic:

“It was a lot of drama last season, so I kind of prepared myself now that I’m coming into this season, season 10, it’s gonna be even crazier … It’s a lot of different things going on, not just with me, but some of our past castmates are coming back, and we’re gonna see how that goes. We just started taping this past week. I haven’t even seen everybody yet.”

Maybe Kandi means crazy in a fun way? You have to hope so, given that this past season mostly holds a candle for being a little bit too depressing for its own good. The drama revolving around Kandi, which isn’t her doing and was mostly due to what happened with Phaedra Parks spreading information to Porsha Williams, really took the air out of much of the story that season and made it far less entertaining to watch. The biggest thing we hope for is that we get back to the petty drama and the silly / stupid stuff that previously helped to make the show known. This is what we enjoyed seeing the most with the franchise; it’s not the sort of show you watch to get down in the dumps or angry. It’s more escapism, a chance to have a little bit of fun while cheering and yelling at your TV. Drama is good when it’s drama that’s not overtly nasty or sad. This situation was both.

As for the returning housewives, the new people Kandi is referring to here are Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes, who are both stepping back into the show after a little bit of time away. (Kim appeared briefly at the end of this past season, but it was just a cameo.)
