NCIS video: See Wilmer Valderrama accept award for Mark Harmon, cast

Recently, Wilmer Valderrama traveled all the way to Monte Carlo in order to take part in the annual TV festival there. Not only that, but the actor also accepted an awards on behalf of Mark Harmon and the rest of the NCIS cast.

In the video below, you can see Valderrama accept The Golden Nymph at the festival, an award that is all about the show being the most-watched program in the entire world. This is the third time in four years that the show has received this trophy, but we assume that it never gets old. Wilmer does his part to say thank you to everyone involved, but he then also takes advantage of the moment to try and preach a deeper message that is really all about acceptance, television as entertainment, and also television as inspiration. He talks about making the most of the platform that we have to help other people. It’s an inclusive rather than divisive speech, and it’s absolutely one that should make you smile.

Wilmer has only been on NCIS as Nick Torres for one year, but it’s pretty clear that he’s not going anywhere in the near future judging from why he was sent overseas to accept this trophy. Nick was a character who became more and more endearing as time went on. He started off as a guy who was rough around the edges in some way, but the more you got to know him, the more you understood him and the more caring and interesting a person he became. Sure, he has a tendency to be a little bit of a rule-breaker, but there is also a sweetness and a kindness that he carries. The episode from this past season where he bonded with a cancer patient, one that reminded him of an experience with one of his first loves, was especially memorable.

NCIS season 15 will start filming in the Los Angeles area a little bit later this summer. Meanwhile, you better start preparing now for the show to premiere in September. There will hopefully be further details available out there in the coming weeks as we approach that premiere.
