Bachelor in Paradise 4 will run shorter; DeMario Jackson may not return

Bachelor in

When Bachelor in Paradise 4 does air on ABC a little bit later this summer, you won’t be seeing as much of it as you would in seasons past.

Per a report from Deadline, the show is dropping down a total of two hours from how many hours it had last year to help compensate for the amount of time in which it wasn’t in production due to the DeMario Jackson – Corinne Olympios scandal. This was likely the only way that there could still be a season that would air later this summer; otherwise, Paradise would probably be delayed for a year, and not feature many of the same cast members who took part in it this time.

The likes of Raven Gates, Jasmine Goode, Amanda Stanton, Alexis Waters, Robby Hayes, and Lacey Mark are all seemingly returning for more fun in the Mexico sun. As a matter of fact, it seems like the entire original cast of season 4 will return minus Corinne (who likely will never be back after threatening litigation against the show) and, seemingly, DeMario.

According to TMZ, DeMario has decided to not return to the show despite receiving an invite following the incident — if that stays true, it’s probably the right move for him. Even if he was not responsible for any of the “misconduct” at the center of the new scandal, he seems to be perfectly aware that the past two seasons of the franchise have not been good for him. First, he had the scandal with an ex-girlfriend on Rachel Lindsay’s season, and now this. Maybe if he returned to Paradise he could help clear his name, but it’s possible that some other problem could always arrive for him out there.

The TMZ report notes that DeMario is more interested in getting into broadcasting than being on reality television. We’ll see if that happens. A new premiere date for the show should be formally announced in the next week or so; don’t be shocked if it is pushed back a week or two from its original start time so that the people in post-production aren’t exhausted to the bone trying to piece everything together.

Is this the right move for DeMario to steer clear of the Bachelor in Paradise franchise now? Be sure to share in the comments below!
