2017 MMVAs: Where to watch, live stream pre-show

MMVAs

The MMVAs (Otherwise known now as the iHeartRadio MuchMusic Video Awards) are one of the biggest awards shows that take place in Canada; so how can you watch or live stream it?

The first thing that you should know here is that being outside of Canada is not going to impede your ability to check out the show. There may be authorized streaming options no matter where you are! In this era of geo-blocking, you do have to give the folks over at Much some applause for that.

First of all, you should know that the live stream for the pre-show is going to be here before you know it! As the fine folks at Twitter Canada reveal themselves, the pre-show will start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time / 3:30 p.m. Pacific, and the entirety of it is going to stream on the social-media platform. Following that, there will be more opportunities to watch the show itself live, per the official post from Much themselves below.

Alessia Cara and Joe Jonas are set to be the co-hosts for the show this year, which is basically Canada’s version of the MTV Video Music Awards for those watching for the first time. There are some awards that appeal to people all over the world, and there are also awards honoring specifically Canadian artists. It’s a way to get some big stars, while also still having a certain element of national pride in the process.

As for who is performing tonight, you will have a chance to see Jonas’ band DNCE to go along with Lorde, Niall Horan, Camila Cabello, Imagine Dragons, Julia Michaels, Iggy Azalea, and many others. The presenters for the night include such popular people as Darren Criss, Lights, Carly Rae Jepsen, Gotham star David Mazouz, The Vampire Diaries alum Kat Graham, Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell, and then star of Orphan Black Tatiana Maslany. Even though this is a music show, the MMVAs this year is continuing their recent trend of getting a lot of actors from popular TV shows on the program as well. Some of these people are Canadian, and there are others whose shows film in Canada. Take, for example, Orphan Black.

Hopefully, this proves to be a fun show! We’ll have some further coverage throughout the night over at the link here, so be sure to come back for all of that.
