Poldark season 3 episode 2 spoilers: What is Ross’ request to the Carnes?
If you recall, at the end of the premiere Ross Poldark made a decision when it comes to how he wanted to handle things when it comes to George Warleggan, Elizabeth, and the new baby Valentine that may or may not be his: He would not venture over there, and in turn, the two sides could have some peace. He seems keen to keep that arrangement, even though it means the sacrifice of not being able to going over to Trenwith.
The issue that comes into play in this episode comes in the form of Demelza’s two brothers, especially given that one of them is already rather keen on Elizabeth’s cousin Morwenna. The subject of Trenwith comes up while at the dinner table, but Ross is very quick to shut the whole ordeal down and to further go about his business. It’s not something that he wants to hear, and that’s probably not something that’s going to be changing in the next few episodes at least.
Now, the issue there is that Sam and Drake Carne don’t seem like the two sort of guys who are going to listen to what Ross, still a relative stranger to them, says. The heart wants what the heart wants, and for Drake, his heart is going to be telling him MORWENNA MORWENNA MORWENNA. Therefore, be prepared for some drama to start as a result of that, and for Elizabeth to continue to be at the epicenter of some more herself. Given that she knows the dilemma with her new child, we find it hard to imagine that she’ll be able to just separate herself from Ross for good.
Oh, and George also likes to stir up trouble, and as a result of that we’re going to continue to go ahead and assume that this is something that could be coming around the bend at almost every moment. Without trouble, would Poldark really be the same show? It’s hard to imagine it.
How long do you think Sam and Drake will actually listen to what Ross has to say on this subject? Sound off in the comments!
