Better Call Saul season 3: Dean Norris aware of cameo potential

Better Call Saul season 3

Could there be a Dean Norris cameo on Better Call Saul season 3? It certainly seems like something that is possible; yet, good luck getting Norris to actually open up one way or another about it actually happening.

Norris is actually gearing up for a very different role now on the new TNT drama Claws, one that is already getting a lot of attention for being fun and creative. In speaking to TVLine about that role (which, suffice it to say, is very different than playing Hank from Breaking Bad), he said the following about his cameo potential:

“I talk to him as a friend. We see each other a couple times a year on a friendly basis, and every once in a while, we’ll run into each other at various industry events. I certainly don’t bring it up… and if there were any discussions, I wouldn’t be able to tell you. [Laughs] It’s always the question on people’s minds, though. I get it.”

Just by virtue of the Hank character and the world of Better Call Saul, there are so many ways for Hank to turn up. It’s actually far more organic to include him in this show than it would be Bryan Cranston’s Walter White or Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman, mostly because there are multiple characters that could be tied to the police. Take, for example, a guy like Nacho — if he gets arrested, isn’t it possible that he has a run-in like Hank? Hopefully, someone like Kim Wexler or Chuck McGill doesn’t find themselves in such a position. (Technically, we also hope that Nacho has a different fate, as well — it’s just clear that he’s in the thick of some bad business and is walking a tricky line with Hector.)

Since Breaking Bad, Norris went on to play Big Jim for three seasons on CBS’ Under the Dome, and is coming off of a role on The Big Bang Theory as a high-ranking military officer who hired Sheldon, Leonard, and Howard to work on a secret government project. They eventually bought it, so presumably his role on that show is over for the time being.

What do you think: Does a Norris – Better Call Saul cameo make some sense, or are there some other shows you’d like to see him be a part of first? Share now in the comments below!

Also, remember that there is a new episode of Better Call Saul airing on AMC Monday night.
