Dark Matter season 3 spoilers: Prepare for two-hour premiere

Tonight on Syfy, the wait is over for more Dark Matter. After a good nine months off of the air, season 3 premieres with two hours that should hopefully provide some answers to the NUMEROUS threads that were left open at the end of last season, including the betrayal of Four and what that means now. There’s also a big story set up now in terms of The Android, and also a further hope to understand the future of One. (For those who are unfamiliar with the show, it’s certainly possible that this abstract names will feel somewhat foreign.)

The titles for these episodes are “Being Better Is So Much Harder” and “It Doesn’t Have to Be Like This” — for the record, the Dark Matter episode titles are some of the best in the business. They’re memorable, and emotional in their own way. There certainly isn’t a lot else out there like that. The attached trailer offers up a little more insight into the state of Four, and the entire trial that lies ahead for the Raza crew. These two hours will probably feel like a movie in some way, with them resolving the events of the finale and also setting up what the new equilibrium will be for the story that is coming up

The synopsis below is brief, but it’s a nice little add-on to everything that is coming tonight:

“In the aftermath of the explosion, the Raza crew fights to survive and works to recover a deadly drive.”

Beyond the story of Dark Matter, the biggest thing to hope for is some ratings constancy. Given that this is a space epic, there is a budget that has to be considered. With that, there needs to be a steady viewership! Season 2 was down around 30% in the 18-49 demographic from season 1, so if the show is going to continue beyond season 3, it needs to avoid another dramatic drop. Fingers crossed that one way or another, the show is able to find plenty of viewers — even knowing full well that this is a Friday night during the summer and total viewers are fairly scarce.
