The Son season 2 premiere date hopes for Pierce Brosnan, cast
The first thing worth noting here is that there will, in fact, be a season 2 of the Pierce Brosnan Western. Despite having the immense challenge of airing Saturday nights, this is a show that has managed to somehow pull in the ratings necessary to be granted a renewal. As for the finer details, that’s something that still needs to be determined.
In a statement when The Son season 2 was first announced, Brosnan had the following to say:
“I am over the moon happy to be back in the saddle as Colonel Eli McCullough for season two of The Son and to stand shoulder-to-shoulder alongside our incredible cast of actors, writers, directors and our amazing crew in the heart of Austin, Texas. And above all else to our ever-growing fan base, I extend my heartfelt thanks for your support.”
He was joined, meanwhile, by AMC boss Charlie Collier with the following message of his own:
“The Son proudly continues our Westerns tradition at AMC, including Broken Trail, Hell on Wheels and decades of films from The Duke, Clint and so many more. We are so pleased to add to that list another season of our original, multi-generational drama from Philipp Meyer, Kevin Murphy and a remarkable cast led by the incomparable Pierce Brosnan … It’s our longstanding mission to super-serve Westerns fans on weekends and we look forward to continuing this epic next year. Welcome home, Son.”
So when may season 2 premiere? Odds are, in the spring or summer of next year. With the timing of the renewal, there is plenty of time for AMC to release the show at around the same time. Given that there also is not that much in the way of major competition, there isn’t all that much to worry about in that regard, either.
If you love the show, just keep watching it. There is so much more of this story that could be told, and you do have a really strong cast leading the way with it.
