America’s Got Talent promo: All about golden buzzer moments

The golden buzzer moments have been some of the most entertaining parts of any America’s Got Talent season; with that. Why wouldn’t NBC want to focus on them?

In the new video below, you’ve got a chance to relive many of the great golden buzzer moments from the past season of the show in their entirety, whether they be such ones as Grace VanderWaal, Malevo, Calysta Bevier, or Sal Valentinetti. There is such a crazy energy that comes with these moments in between the lighting and the confetti and the pure joy that comes on a contestant’s face.

What this is, effectively, is a tangible way of telling someone that their dream is going to become in part a reality. It’s not like telling someone that they have a million dollars or their own headlining show, but it’s a step in that direction and a guarantee that their work is paying off in the form of a live-show appearance. It’s also tangible validation as opposed to kind words that don’t mean much of anything in the end. That is something that every contestant on this show wants to have at some point, since words don’t mean as much if you do find yourself eliminated far earlier than you ever expected to be.

Looking forward to this season, the biggest hope and expectation in the golden buzzer department is merely that Simon Cowell and the judges opt to spread the love around a little more. If you think back to the initial four golden buzzers, they all went to singers. They were all very good, but what makes this show stand out more are the acts that you don’t see anywhere else — the comedians, the magicians, the danger acts, and some of the stuff that is weird and wacky. These are the sort of people that the show does need to celebrate, and for some reason it depresses us that Tape Face didn’t get a golden buzzer at some point last season given that he was one of the more memorable acts from it after the fact.
