Silicon Valley season 4 episode 4 spoilers: With their powers combined
What a better way to kick off this Silicon Valley season 4 episode 4 preview piece then with a Captain Planet reference? Unfortunately, we don’t think that Gavin Belson is going to take pollution down to zero — or send Richard Hendricks’ hopes at a better internet into the heavens.
At the end of this past episode, Richard first learned that Gavin owned the patent for the project he was hoping to pursue — he may be able to change the world with it, but in the process of doing so, he may have to figure out a way to work with his longtime archenemy. It’s like a nerdy Batman trying to work with a megalomaniac Joker reliant on a bunch of yes-men in order to tell him how amazing he is.
Let’s hand down a bit more scoop on what’s coming up on next week’s episode:
Silicon Valley season 4 episode 4 synopsis – “When Richard (Thomas Middleditch) reaches out to an unlikely ally, Jared (Zach Woods) worries about the company he’s keeping. Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) gets tough on security in the wake of Dinesh’s (Kumail Nanjiani) latest dalliance; later, he considers whether to put his pride aside for a job. Concerned about Jian-Yang’s (Jimmy O. Yang) commitment to his app, Erlich (T.J. Miller) takes matters into his own hands.”
All of this could and should be hilarious. Richard and Gavin have nothing to lose given their mutual unemployment. Meanwhile, Jared probably doesn’t like the idea of working with Gavin thanks to their history, but will probably suck it up for Richard.
As for Gilfoyle, he’s aware that Dinesh’s new girlfriend is one of the most prolific hackers working in the business, and he realizes that if he breaks her heart, there’s a very good chance that she’ll want revenge … and given that Dinesh is a compulsive liar, there’s a very good chance that he’ll hurt her or piss her off. It’s almost a given because things are going to be so much funnier this way.
The final details of the story relates to Erlich — he has no real business getting that involved in the technical aspects of an app. However, he may have no real choice here given Jian Yang’s ambivalence towards the See Food project.
