Marvel’s Inhumans: First look at Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, cast

Inhumans

Marvel’s Inhumans is, at least at the moment, one of the most-anticipated shows of the fall. The photo below is a reminder of why.

Per Entertainment Weekly, this is your first look at the main cast of the show, which includes from left to write Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Ken Leung as Karnak, Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, and Iwan Rheon as Maximus. This is a crew that is easy to be excited about without even talking about the comic-book origins — we loved Mount on Hell on Wheels, Swan was excellent on Graceland, and of course Leung and Rheon already have excellent performances under their belt from Lost and Game of Thrones, respectively. The show’s assembled a great crew of people to play iconic comic-book roles, and we’ll get a chance to dive into the show’s presentation of this world in a mere matter of months. Remember that the first two episodes of the show are set to air back-to-back in IMAX theaters in early September.

On another subject, executive producer Scott Buck told the aforementioned website that this world could be influenced by the world of Agents of SHIELD, even if there are no direct plans for crossovers as of now:

“We all inhabit the same universe, so things that have happened on S.H.I.E.L.D. will potentially affect our show as well.”

Whether or not Agents of SHIELD is even around to air alongside Inhumans remains to be seen, given that it remains firmly on the bubble leading up to the fourth season ending a little bit later this month. We do maintain that there is potential for both shows to air over the course of the season; the plan for Inhumans is to do a run on ABC this fall, so you could potentially bring back Agents of SHIELD for a shortened run of 13-15 episodes in the winter / spring. Focus on a fifth season, and then try to focus on its future beyond that when you come to it. (For the record, season 4 of Agents of SHIELD is the strongest one for the show so far, and we’re not sure that it’s even that close.)

Once there is some further news on Inhumans, we’ll have it for you here at the site. For now, the big question we want to know is just how excited you are for this season to air! Share in the comments now. (Photo: ABC.)
