Riverdale spoilers: Further news on Archie and Veronica, finale mystery

Archie and Veronica

The Riverdale finale is coming to The CW on Thursday, May 11, and if some of the first news out there about the episode is to be believed, you better be ready for a lot of storytelling geared around the characters of Archie and Veronica. We’ve seen their relationship start to blossom (put intended) already, and that may only continue as we get through the end of the season.

This finale is entitled “The Sweet Hereafter,” and what we are imagining at the moment with the show is even though we’ve spent a lot of time discussing romance and high school drama, this is ultimately a show about a murder and we anticipate that starting to get more and more at the front of everything. Take a look at the attached synopsis for some additional news on that subject:

“Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) continue to grow closer. Betty (Lili Reinhart) is tired of her family acting as if nothing has happened and confronts her mother. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) finds himself in an unexpected situation, leaving Archie and the gang scrambling. Hermione (Marisol Nichols) makes Fred (Luke Perry) an offer that seems too good to be true. Meanwhile, the truth about Blossom’s family business is revealed leaving Cheryl (Madelain Petsch) to take matters into her own hands.”

You have to believe that there will be some sort of epic cliffhanger at the end of this finale, largely because this is Riverdale and it’s a show that really thrives on giving people something to discuss. Maybe this means that someone will die, or maybe it means that we’ll have a chance to see a big hookup. One way or another, we anticipate that this is going to be a finale for the ages and a great jumping-off point until season 2. It’s possible that this said season will not premiere until 2018, so you already have our deepest sympathies while you sit around and wait for that.

At least until then you have another episode to dive into and enjoy, right? There is an installment airing on The CW Thursday night, and in the event you haven’t read all that much about that yet, you can do so just by paying a visit over to the link here. (Photo: The CW.)
