Chicago PD season 4 finale spoilers: Erin Lindsay’s harrowing case

The first Chicago PD season 4 finale spoilers are in, and they certainly suggest one thing more so than anything else: Trouble for Lindsay. Or, specifically, trouble for her as she deals with some accusations that have been levied against her mother.

This episode is entitled “Fork in the Road,” and based on some of the news that has been revealed now via NBC (look below), she is going to have to deal with her mother being a possible murder suspect. To make matters worse, she is going to have her own problems to deal with:

“When Lindsay (Sophia Bush) receives a panicked call from her mother Bunny (guest star Markie Post) whose boyfriend had just been shot, Lindsay must figure out the best way to approach the situation, as her mother is now a murder suspect. The case opens up when a group of high school students OD, and the drugs in question relate back to the situation with Bunny. In addition to her mother’s issues, Lindsay finds herself up against the review board dealing with consequences of her actions.”

There are obviously so many different problems that we see at play within this episode, and much of it begins with the simple fact that the relationship between Lindsay and her mother has always been strained. We wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t know what to do in this situation, largely because we’re not sure we would know what to do, either. It’s such a harrowing experience to be put through.

The other thing that we’re concerned about here is Lindsay’s sobriety, given that this is the sort of event that could easily cause someone to give in to past temptations and become a danger to themselves and others. Hopefully, she’ll have the support of Halstead and others as she deals with these trying times and tries to look forward to whatever her future may hold. It’s possible that there could be a cliffhanger at the end of this; while there is no official Chicago PD season 5 just yet, we do have a good feeling that such a renewal is going to be coming up.
