13 Reasons Why season 2 renewal seemingly on the way

13 Reasons Why season 2 renewal

While the idea of a 13 Reasons Why season 2 renewal was not something we counted on before the premiere, it now looks likely.

Specifically, Deadline reports that Netflix is getting very close to bringing the drama adaptation back, even if the story moving forward is not entirely clear. We do think that there were a few threads left open for the show to come back, and that seems to be what the streaming service is relying on in order to continue the story. There is another story out there via The Hollywood Reporter that a writers room is getting together to chart out what a story could be for the series moving forward.

Another big piece of evidence? The news that came out earlier this year that Ross Butler is going to be leaving Riverdale, presumably because he’s not going to have the time

It also makes some serious sense as to why Netflix would want to bring the story back. When you think about social media, this show has created a huge footprint ever since the show first premiered. There were thousands of thousands of people tweeting about the show actively, and it has immersed itself into the world of pop-culture. Anytime that a show generates this much buzz, and also gets young people talking about a subject that is very important in suicide, it’s a show that you have to consider bringing back. We just hope that it will be able to match all of the hype and the incredible expectations that have been put out there for it.

If the show does end up getting renewed, odds are that it will be a long time before it premieres. Because of Netflix making all of their episodes available to people at once, they make it so that there are these tremendously long hiatuses between one season of their shows and the next. The biggest thing to celebrate right now if you enjoy the show is the perceived notion of more — even if it’s not official, we do think that this is going to be coming sooner or later.
