The Catch season 2 episode 7 is airing on ABC next week, and this may be an even bigger deal than you would first realize. How so? Let’s explain…
First, we’re getting closer to being in the home stretch of the season, and this is where things in terms of the story are going to be ramping up to new heights. The synopsis below is a little bit further proof of that:
“Alice is caught off guard when someone from her past resurfaces and is in need of her help. Meanwhile, Ben and Margot are forced to work together to keep a sweet sixteen party from getting out of hand.”
Meanwhile, you also have to think here if the future in terms of the show’s ratings. So far through season 2, The Catch is averaging around a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is down over 20% from the season before. This also puts the show firmly in the same position as many of the other bubble shows on ABC, whether it be Agents of SHIELD, Once Upon a Time, and Quantico. Of these four shows, we feel like two or three of them are going to be renewed, but one of them at least will probably be biting the dust.
What makes next week’s episode of The Catch so important is that this is the first episode that is airing without the added support of both Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal before it. Those two shows are going to be taking a little bit of a break, but the show is going to return in two weeks time. This is why we think that next week is so important. If The Catch can prove itself worthy of getting some great ratings tonight, then it probably goes a long way in further ensuring that it gets another batch of episodes down the road.
As for if it struggles to do that … well, let’s just say that it could be in some danger. If you love the show, watch it live! We do think that the promo below should give you ever bit of an incentive to do so in terms of it being insanely fun and giving you a good sense of some of the craziness that you’re going to be seeing coming up.
