Grace and Frankie renewed (reportedly) for season 4
SpoilerTV is reporting that the Netflix comedy has been picked up already for a fourth season, and while this has not been confirmed officially at the moment, this is hardly much of a surprise. Both Fonda and Tomlin have both expressed a willingness to do more of the show, and with a little bit more regularity than they’ve done them to date.
Specifically, the website cites some recent casting notices as a sign that the show is coming back — not that we never doubted its future, but it is nice to get the news nonetheless.
If this renewal sticks, it means mostly more great stories, but also a further commitment from the folks over at Netflix to produce incredible entertainment that continues to leave its viewers hooked. It understands what its top priorities should be, and at the top of the list is trying to create content that is consistently fantastic, and also content that people want to come back and watch in some other capacity moving into the future. Grace and Frankie is one of those cornerstones that Netflix as a streaming service can build around, and it accomplishes a wide array of great stuff. It’s funny, it has a devoted audience, and it brings something to the table that isn’t quite anywhere else out there on TV.
As for when this new batch of episodes will premiere, it’s ultimately a little early to know that one way or another. Our hope, at least for now, is that we get to see the show back on fairly early in the new year. Time will tell if that ends up being the case. Once there is some further news, we’ll let you know — there are also some other Netflix properties that we’re waiting to get some further news about one way or another.
