Chicago Med season 2 episode 20 promo: Could Will Halstead’s father die?

Chicago Med season 2 episode 20

“Generation Gap” is the title for Chicago Med season 2 episode 20, and based on some of the early indications that we have for it, all signs point to this being one of the more emotional hours of the season … and we say that knowing full well everything else we’ve seen this season in between a suicide and other stunning deaths.

Part of the reason for the high stakes this time around simply has to deal with the person who specifically is in danger in Will Halstead’s father.

Chicago Med season 2 episode 20 synopsis – “Things get personal for Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) when his unsupportive father (guest star Louis Herthum) is admitted to the hospital against his wishes. When treating Will’s father, Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) reflects on his relationship with his dad. Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) gets involved when his daughter Robin’s (Mekia Cox) strange behavior continues to intensify and Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) struggles to help a teenage boy who is desperate to control his sexual urges. Dr. Manning (Torrey Devitto) feels the impact of being a working mother when a young boy is brought in for neglect. Meanwhile, Sarah (Rachel DiPillo) teaches a group of high school students about the responsibilities of having a child by using fake baby dolls.”

As that indicates, much of this episode is going to revolve around the idea of parents and children, and the differences between one generation and the other. This should be a fascinating character study that shows every member of the hospital in different relationships. In the process of that, maybe they learn something further about themselves. Maybe Sarah’s story is meant to be the lighthearted part? We shall see.

In getting back to Will Halstead’s father for a moment, we do know that there is going to be an appearance in the episode from Jesse Lee Soffer as Jay. Therefore, there won’t be any questions about why he’s not around.

Promo – The focus of this one is solely on Will’s father, and whether or not he will be able to be there to help him get through this difficult, impossible time.
