Poldark season 3 premiere date will be in June on BBC One
In a post on the official Twitter account, the series confirmed that it will return in June. This is earlier than season 2 premiered on BBC One, but also later in the year than season 1. It’s almost the Goldilocks in that regard: Just right.
The new batch of episodes is of course based once more on the book series, and will pick up following the stunning events of season 2 — Ross and Demelza seem ready to give their relationship a go once more despite Ross’ infidelity, but they may be facing complications in the wake of Elizabeth’s pregnancy. They also may continue to have business struggles, and the specter of Warleggan is still floating around out there as something that they’ll have to deal with. We don’t imagine George being the sort that is going to go away.
The series stars Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson, who both give great performances that are refreshing, human, and perfect for the period. It’s a show that does offer something for everyone, whether it be action, drama, romance, or history. There aren’t many other shows out there quite like it.
As for whether or not this premiere month means that the series will also start up airing on PBS in America this June, we doubt it. While that would be tremendous if it turns out to be the case, we have a hard time envisioning it just based on past airing patters where typically, the show premieres at least over a month later in America as opposed to when it starts in the UK.
