Real Housewives of Atlanta: Who is Apollo Nida’s fiancee Sherien Almufti?

Who is Sherien Almufti? It’s a question that we understand you asking going into Sunday night’s Real Housewives of Atlanta episode, given that this is where you’re going to be seeing Apollo Nida’s fiancee for the first time. She introduces herself at the Old Lady Gang party, and you have to think that her mere presence is going to cause some chaos. Even with Apollo away from the show, he still finds a way to haunt it in some other capacity.

So what do we know about the 34-year old Almufti? Well, it starts with the revelation that she knew Nida long before the two were together romantically. Specifically, she tells Us Weekly that him going to prison actually was in part what made their relationship become something more than a friendship:

“I think the night we took him away [to prison] I felt something completely different … Like, we’ve experienced something, you know. He cried on my shoulder. We held [each other] for a while. I just let him know — I told him as a friend — ‘I’m gonna be there for you.’ See, he was there for me, as well. … So I, in return as a friend first, before anything else, I told him I was gonna be there for him. Because I watched how a lot of people kind of just turned their backs on him.”

The relationship between these two grew while Apollo was locked away, and even still there is a personal battle going on between Nida and Phaedra Parks that is separate from much of what is going on in his romantic life today. We’re not sure how Almufti’s arrival is going to be taken on the show itself, mostly because of the fact that there may be a certain number of women in the series who are frankly tired of much of the drama, and we can’t blame them for that given that this is a huge part of what this season’s been to date.

We are getting near the end of this season, so whether or not Almufti is a part of the series in the long-term is irrelevant. We just know that she’s a key component in things now.
