The Voice UK final: Mo Adeniran, Jamie Miller, Into the Ark perform
For the sake of this article, we’re going to be focusing on the performances of the final three, how they fare, and who should win based solely on tonight’s episode — a little bit later, we will return with a little bit more insight in terms of the results — winning this show at the very least means something in terms of making it through this competition.
Our first impression of the studio tonight? Madness. We could barely hear Emma Willis at times, and she was the one person with a microphone.
Here’s our quick impression of the three individual performances — we’ll suss out the field later in just a moment.
Jamie Miller – One of two Jennifer Hudson acts opened the show tonight! We still love his cover of “Shape of You” since there is a certain degree of pop there that you don’t have in the Ed Sheeran original.
Into the Ark – They came out with a performance of “Just Hold On, We’re Going Home” by Drake — a cool song for them to give their own take on. The more we hear them, the more we think that they’re probably the most commercially viable out of any of the acts this season.
Mo – The guy is a vocal powerhouse, and he’s got so much swagger and charisma. To us, it’s clear that he is the best singer of the final three; however, that doesn’t necessarily mean that he ends up winning.
If we were to declare a winner from the first three performances on the night, we’d say that Mo has the edge in terms of talent. However, Into the Dark is the act we see most of the younger audience of the show voting for to win. We don’t think that any act in the final three this year is a complete dud, so that helps to ease the fear that you have a winner who’ll be immediately irrelevant after the fact. We do think that Jamie would have the most trouble just because there are so many similar acts out there already.
