Supergirl season 2 episode 17 spoilers: Lynda Carter returns!
We know that there’s certainly been a good bit said about the upcoming musical event on The Flash, but what about Supergirl season 2 episode 17? Doesn’t that matter just as much? This episode is going to be airing on The CW in one week’s time, and it’s going to be significant because Kara will discover that even after singing and dancing with Grant Gustin and some other Glee alumni, there will still be problems aplenty that are awaiting her back on Earth. There is no real refuge for her, but that’s part of the deal when you sign up to be a superhero.
The title for this upcoming episode is “Distant Sun,” and you can see some further details below — including the return of a former Wonder Woman and then also an opportunity to get some more news regarding Alex and Maggie.
Supergirl season 2 episode 17 synopsis – “A large bounty is put out on Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and aliens from far and near attack National City intent on taking out the woman of steel. Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) run into Maggie’s ex-girlfriend, Emily (guest star Hayley Sales), who is in town for a week. Hank (David Harewood) gets an interesting order from President Marsdin (guest star Lynda Carter).”
Will the presence of Emily deter the Sanvers relationship in any way? Personally, we do think that this is much ado about nothing when it comes to the hype around it. It’s almost an insult to the bond that Maggie and Alex have to assume that someone else coming into their life from Maggie’s past would be able to sway them. The fact that it’s such a brief appearance really tells us that Emily isn’t going to be a problem for them.
As for the bounty storyline, it’s a little bit more challenging to discuss it other than just saying that it sounds like it could be interesting. The thing that we’re more curious about is who put out said bounty, since this could be a clue as to how the remainder of the season is going to go. For example, if it’s Mon-El’s parents, don’t you think that this could make for some more awkward situations?
